5 Minutes With - Essench

If you were lucky enough to get your hands on one of our Valentine's boxes you will have received a packet of Essench's incredible Luxury Bath Dust!

Christina & Jenny founded Essench after receiving an endometriosis diagnosis and fearing that the copious amount of medication would cause more harm than good. Essench's products use the power of plants, to offer natural, sustainable cosmetics and are loved by many who suffer with chronic pain thanks to their use of plant therapy.

You'll never meet a couple of girls more down to earth or focused on sustainability which, paired with the fact they create such beautiful products, made it a no brainer for them to be featured in one of our boxes!

We had a chat with Christina & Jenny to find out a little more about the faces behind the brand!

Christina & Jenny, founders of Essench, with their two young children.

As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

Jen: A nursery nurse and I done the job for 18 years until leaving to focus on Essench.

Christina: A vet, I love animals more than humans but later found out I dislike blood even more.

Tell us something about your favourite holiday destination?

Jen: The time when Chris took me away for three nights to Portugal for my 30th, we were like a couple of kids, no responsibilities, no body to look after but ourselves, we had the best few days and the Algarve is so beautiful.

Christina: Wales as its absolutely stunning and I have many childhood memories there.

Three product pictures in a row, one of a girl holding a beauty box, one with bath bombs and one with a brow and lash sirum.

Can you tell us something that might surprise us?

Jen: A painting of my great grandmother is displayed in Birmingham art museum as she was a popular flower seller on corporation street.

Christina: I was grave digger at the local cemetery

What is the nicest compliment you have ever received?

Jen: When people have told me that I'm easy to talk too and confide in. its nice to know that.

Christina: My mom and dad telling me they are proud of me. I messed around at a younger age and some teachers thought I was going to make anything as I didn’t spend much time at school. I made up for it once I reached college and changed tables.
