We had a chat with Aimee and we can't wait to introduce you to the maker behind the brand!
As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A vet, but as an annoying teenager I really didn’t want to do chemistry A Level as I wanted to do History. I so ended up being a Solicitor instead.
I went back to work as a Solicitor part time after my first baby but life was changing rapidly when I was on maternity leave for my second baby so I decided not to go back to law after that. There are a few aspects of being a Solicitor I miss (in particular drafting complex commercial contracts and completing company transactions, I loved my paperwork!) but I really love what I’m doing now and it works well for us as a family. I certainly don’t miss the posturing that can get in the way of commercial legal arrangements!
What is the nicest compliment you have ever received?
That my husband chose me!
This was the cutest response ever so I had to ask how they met!
Oh my goodness, we’ve got a good ‘meeting’ story! Stuart and I actually met as my dad dialled the wrong number at work one day!! In a nutshell - The company my dad worked for used to buy goods from the company that Stuart’s mum worked for. They had spoken on the phone for work purposes on and off for many years. My dad intended to phone another supplier that day but accidentally called the supplier where Stuart’s mum worked and she happened to answer the phone. They exchanged pleasantries as usual and my dad mentioned that I had moved back home to work locally. Stuart’s mum laughed and explained that Stuart had recently moved back into their house temporarily while moving house. They both joked that they couldn’t get rid of their offspring and that as we were both single at the time, they should introduce us! To cut a long story short, one day Stuart got given my email address. A few months later, after emailing and texting regularly, we met up in Cambridge. And twelve years later here we are married with two children! Thanks to some lovely meddling parents with a sense of humour and an inability to dial the right phone number!!
What is your favourite song to sing at karaoke or in the shower?
I have never been to karaoke! We all join in singing Nickelback’s Rockstar when we’re in the car though!
That is a fab song and will now be stuck in my head for the foreseeable future!
If you could give your younger self any piece of advice, what would it be?
Stop caring quite so much about what people think about you, just be yourself
Great advice that everyone needs to hear!
Can you tell us something that might surprise us?
After the last year, I think we have all had enough surprises!
Actually, yes, we can agree with this!
What stories from your life will you tell your children about?
Tales and adventures of all of our animals. The business is named after the registered names of two of my family’s old Labradors (Bramfield, aka Lilly, and Bruce, aka Benny).
And we think they are absolutely beautiful!
Thank you so much Aimee for taking the time to give us a little insight into your world! We loved hearing your responses and learning more about the person behind the brand!
